intercultural sensitivity instruction and interfaces among iranian efl learners intercultural sensitivity, language proficiency, ehnic and demograhic backgrounds:an ethnocentrism vs.ethnorelativism perspective
monumental changes occurring on a daily basis have altered the world into a global village of expanding technology and shrinking geography in which preparing language learners for intercultural communication seems to be a sine qua non for modern language education. employing a cross-sectional design in its first phase, this study investigated the intercultural sensitivity and language proficien...

This paper deals with the over-approximation of the reachable sets of a continuous-time uncertain system based on the sensitivity of its trajectories with respect to initial conditions and uncertain parameters. We first prove the equivalence between an existing over-approximation result based on the sign-stability of the sensitivity matrices and a discrete-time approach relying on a mixed-monot...
متن کاملStochastic Monotonicity and Realizable Monotonicity
We explore and relate two notions of monotonicity, stochastic and realizable, for a system of probability measures on a common finite partially ordered set (poset) S when the measures are indexed by another poset A. We give counterexamples to show that the two notions are not always equivalent, but for various large classes of S we also present conditions on the poset A that are necessary and s...
متن کاملThe Proper Treatments of Focus Sensitivity
An expression is focus sensitive if its interpretation correlates with the location of focus; e.g., a perceptible pitch rise on a stressed syllable, in English or Dutch. “Altijd” (‘always’) and “alleen maar” (‘only’) are Dutch focus sensitive expressions. To illustrate their focus sensitivity, the (a) examples in (1) and (2) can be interpreted as “Whenever you have sat on something, it was your...
متن کامل(φ,ρ)-monotonicity and Generalized (φ,ρ)-monotonicity
In this paper, new concepts of monotonicity, namely (Φ, ρ)-monotonicity, (Φ, ρ)-pseudo-monotonicity and (Φ, ρ)-quasi-monotonicityare introduced for functions defined in Banach spaces. Series of necessary conditions are also given that relate (Φ, ρ)-invexity and generalized (Φ, ρ)-invexity of the function with (Φ, ρ)monotonicity and generalized (Φ, ρ)-monotonicity of its gradient.
